We are currently looking for Investment Management Billables Controller to our Budapest office
The Investment Management Billables team is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the Fund Billable process, for Real Estate, AIP, and Merchant Banking. The main responsibilities include aged receivable reporting, coordinating between various business units fundraising accounting, coordination of third party (fund) payments to Morgan Stanley, and oversight of the Investment Management balance sheet receivable accounts. Further responsibilities include maintain database of partnerships including updates for job code changes. Reconcile discrepancies between the Firm`s general ledger and Safire (the firm`s billables system).
This position requires a strong, self-motivated individual, who has the ability to prioritize and multi-task. The role has dual reporting obligations to world-wide real estate business units and Investment Management accounting team. The candidate will be performing a review of expenditures paid by Morgan Stanley on behalf of the Merchant Banking (Real Estate and Private Equity) funds and various expense reporting for the Business Unit.
Generate monthly billable report by fund from SAFIRE (System used for billing and maintaining expenses incurred to job numbers) Review Safire reports for items over scope ensuring the appropriateness of fund expense, proper classification between active, dead or successful deals, and proper coding to general ledger expense and investment account Investigate unusual or significant expenses Pull invoices over designated thresholds for each fund Coordinate with Regional Investment Controllers, Fund Controllers and BU for proper review and classification of expense.
Determine what expenses will be paid by the Funds or absorbed by the Firm Ensure LPAs (Limited Partnership Agreements) are properly followed Review journal entries to ensure proper general ledger coding Produce weekly reports for management including aging analysis, detailed expense analysis and employee T&E reports Maintain database of partnerships including updates for job code changes Reconcile discrepancies between the Firm general ledger and SAFIRE Obtain approval from regional Controllers and BU Fund management to authorize fund reimbursement to the firm
Strong analytical, organizational, time management and documentation skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Clear English language communicator, particularly by phone and e-mail High regard for attention to details and accuracy Exhibit a strong sense of urgency, accountability, ownership, and follow-up of projects Possess a polished professional demeanour Proficiency in Excel and other windows-based software (formulas, macros, pivot tables, a plus) Experience in a Finance environment would be an advantage Basic knowledge and/or experience in accounts payable/expenses billings environment would be an advantage
