Our client is an independent Private equity firm founded in the 1990's and is focused on making investments in small and mid-size companies with improvement potential in the UK. The Firm has built an exceptional record of acquiring, stabilising, rebuilding and growing fundamentally attractive businesses that faced a combination of operational, financial and managerial challenges at the time of investment. The current portfolio consists of 14 companies across Europe, generating € 1.7 billion in sales.
The Firm is sector agnostic but tends to focus on mature sectors, with a business-to-business angle.
Suitable candidates are likely to have already made an initial move into the Private Equity industry, but will be attracted by the longer term prospects on offer as part of this dynamic, entrepreneurial team, where there is an opportunity to play a key part in formulating and executing the firm's investment strategy.
You will need to have gained experience of the transaction execution process and display strong commercial drive, together with a good operational and commercial perspective. A degree from a high calibre university is a requirement and specific areas of experience might include:
transaction execution from start to finish;
skills developed in financial execution, evaluation of businesses and financial / commercial / operational due diligence
transaction structuring, buy/sell side advisory work;
valuation and exit reviews;
business improvement projects;
Candidates must have a strong interest in working for an investor which focuses on operational improvement, providing hands-on support for portfolio companies. You must have an entrepreneurial character, be highly driven and have an ability to build and maintain a network.
