The Director of Special Projects will help advance existing and new impact investing initiatives with the Wharton Social Impact Initiative. In this role, the DSP will liaise with diverse industry and academic stakeholders to ensure strong relationships that support WSII’s impact investing work, including conducting outreach for WSII’s research activities, managing the Wharton Impact Investing Partners and Wharton Africa Growth Partners programs, and convening impact investing practitioners on special topics. Working with the Senior Director and advisors, the DSP will also support the development of a dedicated investment vehicle for WIIP.
The preferred candidate will have: - Experience and familiarity with the financial services industry, specifically private equity/venture capital and/or demonstrated interest in impact investing - Demonstrated track record of raising investment or philanthropic capital - Experience planning and executing events with senior-level executives - Experience with analyzing impact investments and/or conducting outreach and building relationships, preferably in a research context - Experience working with Wharton faculty, students, and/or alumni (preferred)
