Due to continued growth, a rare opportunity exists to join Sunsuper as an Investment Manager in our Sydney office (Australia Square location) working within the Private Markets team which is responsible for over $11b invested in Sunsuper's Property, Infrastructure and Private Capital portfolios.
As an Investment Manager you will work with the members of the Investment Strategy, Private Markets team, other colleagues at Sunsuper and advisors to devise, implement and manage nominated investments within Sunsuper's ongoing Private Markets investment programs of Property, Infrastructure and Private Capital, with a primary focus on the Property and/or Private Capital asset classes. Specifically, you will be involved in:
Supporting the development of the overall strategies for nominated Private Market investment portfolios that take into account objectives for these portfolios and the cash flow characteristics of the Fund.
Establishing and maintaining close working relationships with managers, advisors and co-investors to Sunsuper.
Identifying and negotiating the acquisition or disposal of appropriate investments to fulfil the agreed investment strategies in Private Markets including managing the initial assessment and the due diligence process required for various investments including directly owned assets (e.g. property, infrastructure) and coinvestment transactions (private equity, property, and infrastructure).
Undertaking market research and analysis and recommending relevant managers, advisors and other service providers for the portfolio.
Making appropriate recommendations to the Investment Recommendation Committee with the approval of their manager.
To be successful in this role you must have the following:
Tertiary qualification - a copy of your academic transcript must accompany your application.
7+ years financial services or investment industry experience.
Lateral thinker, clear strategic thinker with an ability to turn sensible thoughts into action.
You will also possess advanced analytical and numerical skills, including advanced skills in Excel and other relevant financial software.
Investment management experience gained from working with fund managers or direct investment experience, along with commercial experience reviewing legal documents, including investment management agreements will be highly regarded.
