Analyst - Leveraged Capital Markets Syndicate

My client - a European Investment Bank has a long term commitment to being a major player in LBO and Private Equity backed deals that requires a capable and effective Syndication function.  

The role, in Capital Markets is a key contributor to this function and the successful candidate shall display strong technical and interpersonal skills to work as part of the wider deal team.  They will be committed, hard working and keen to learn and take on new challenges.

Summary

• As a leveraged capital markets analyst you will support the senior members of team who are responsible for underwriting and syndicating the banks leveraged loan activity in EMEA
• The analyst will be required to ensure that the team is provided with up to date market analysis, as well as sharing this analysis with other business lines
• The analyst will thus need to provide support on the analytical side, help prepare lender presentations and client marketing as well as be extremely organised, with strong time management discipline. The team focuses on leveraged buyouts for clients across Europe in a variety of sectors

Main responsibilities

• Preparation of client pitches and other marketing materials
• Preparation of weekly market update materials and other reporting tools, as well as timely reporting to league table publishers
• Preparing the draft underwriting memorandum as part of the credit/underwriting submission
• Preparing the Bank Presentation and Information Memorandum for syndication (involving close co-operation with origination teams)
• Responsibility for maintaining an updated database of comparable transactions (comps) and utilising this database for market analysis
• Preparation of deal closing files: closing memos, deal summaries which are shared internally with other business lines
• Managing and coordinating (alongside the Sales function) a group of investor banks and funds through a selldown process including creating question databases and ensuring the timely completion of deliverables
• Dealing with Investor Q&A in conjunction with the deal team

Technical skills

• Clear and concise writing, communication and presentation skills
• Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Excellent organisational and time management skills - multiple tasks with deadlines in short spaces of time
