Role Overview Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management for Real Estate Europe in Brookfield, the role offers the opportunity to work directly with a wide range of real estate portfolio companies controlled by Brookfield including Center Parcs, Student Roost, Canary Wharf, SACO, International Campus and other European investments held within Brookfield's opportunistic private equity funds. The Analyst / Associate will assist with the strategic decision making, investment activities and reporting activities of real estate companies owned by the BSREP II and BSREP III series of opportunity funds. Brookfield takes an active oversight approach with its portfolio companies, specifically regarding major investment, divestment and financing decisions. The successful candidate will require regular interaction with both senior management of portfolio companies and senior leadership of Brookfield. Key Responsibilities - Performing complex financial analysis and valuations.
- Modelling the impacts of the returns either to the business or within the portfolio.
- Preparing marketing materials for both internal and external use (co-investor reporting packages, quarterly reporting, investor day presentations, etc.).
- Assisting in the preparation and review of all internal fund reporting.
- Assisting operating management teams and asset management colleagues with other corporate development transactions as required, including financings, acquisitions, business plan forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Participate in regular quarterly board meetings for the companies, helping in preparation of materials where required.
Technical Skills - Excellent analytical, financial modelling and valuation skills, ideally with a real estate and/or corporate focus from within Investment Banking or Private Equity
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
- Project planning and self-management skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast paced and team-oriented environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail is essential.
- Fluency in additional European language (French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch).
- Proficiency in full suite of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
