The Private Equity & Real Estate Vice President will participate in the entire private equity and real estate investment process including deal sourcing, investment underwriting/due diligence, structuring, obtaining committee approvals, syndication, and ongoing monitoring. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and self-starting individual who is passionate about private equity and real estate and is comfortable working on multiple transactions at once. The position entails coordinating and working with global product partners which does requires late night calls several times a month. The position also entails working with many of the largest, most reputable private equity and real estate firms in the world.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in the origination, analysis and diligence of Asia based real estate and private equity investment opportunities, (50/50 split between traditional real estate and private equity)
Create and model financial projections and other analyses used in evaluating potential investments.
Prepare and present investment packages to Citi's internal investment and risk committees
Assist is the structuring of private equity and real estate products as well as supporting distribution efforts
Assist in the account coverage for some of the largest and most reputable private equity and real estate firms in the world as well as select regional and local experts
Create and author various fund update and performance memos
Present each offering to internal committees and sales teams
Conduct training sessions for bankers and investment counselors
Provide verbal and written updates to clients or respond to client/banker inquires on existing investment offerings
Attend fund manager annual meetings and assist in the ongoing management of legacy offerings
Provide updates to senior level management on a regular basis
Qualifications and Skills
BS/BA in finance, accounting, statistics, real estate or related field required;
7-10 years relevant experience in a real estate, private equity or investment management role preferred.
Prior experience investing in private equity or real estate investment funds, club structures, and co-investments for ultra high-net-worth clientele a plus.
Demonstrated problem solving ability and drive to leverage available resources to create solutions and suggestions for senior team members
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel (modeling), Microsoft Word (investment memos) and Microsoft PowerPoint (presentations)
Superior written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment. Ability to speak Mandarin a plus
Strong organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to work productively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and firm deadlines.
