As a Commercial Associate (CA), you will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced relationship management professionals within the Financial Services industry to service a variety of Investment Banking, Private Equity and Investment Management clients in the Americas.
By working with clients in the field daily, CAs educate and spread awareness in the marketplace about S&P Global Market Intelligence's capabilities and are a key factor in revenue retention and growth. CAs are also tied directly to relationship managers to hone the skills required to own and manage a full client relationship. The CA role strengthens Market Intelligence's brand with existing accounts by developing and executing dedicated, creative and ongoing outreach initiatives for clients. As part of the account team, CAs are responsible for delivering a positive overall client experience, supporting strategic objectives on the account level, and driving increased client adoption of existing services. S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $46.2k to $95.9k Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Support relationship management in day to day account maintenance as well as account planning and execution
Receive firsthand training from experienced relationship managers on negotiation, pricing, and account strategy decisions
Provide best-in-class client service in order to expand user adoption, further integrate services into client workflow, and ensure a high level of client satisfaction
Deliver client training (on-site or via WebEx) on product functionality and new releases specific to user job function and gather client feedback to support product enhancements
Research market and customer developments and trends, review quarterly client results, and report findings to Relationship Managers
Monitor product usage and develop account profiles including geographic/departmental presence, relationship history and business interests to help develop renewal proposals and identify upsell opportunities
Bachelor's degree required (Finance, Economics or related field preferred)
2-3 years work experience (2 years of experience in financial services industry and/or in a sales/account management role preferred)
Positive, proactive attitude and ability to work well in teams
Exceptional skills in listening to clients, articulating ideas and complex information in a clear and concise manner
Proven record of maintaining strong relationships with senior members of client organizations, addressing their needs, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Goal and action orientated, with ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Ideally experienced in a consultative sales or a client facing role (inside sales, prospecting, sales support, customer support) and in dealing with challenging situations (e.g. objection handling, overcoming gatekeepers, etc.)
Strong MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills are required
Any knowledge of CRM databases (such as Salesforce.com) or research platforms (e.g. Capital IQ, SNL, Pitchbook) would be advantageous
