SVP, Treasury
This position is responsible for leading the Treasury function and management of Treasury initiatives in supporting Asset Living s scalable capabilities to achieve overall growth-oriented strategies. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for developing and executing value creation opportunities for Asset Living and the clients it serves. The Treasurer leads recruitment of, development of, and prioritization for a team of 4 treasury professionals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to leading administration of 3,000+ client bank accounts across 100+ banking and financial institutions (current state); managing banking and related financial institution relationships, optimizing corporate and clients banking structures, including selecting key banking partnerships and migrating client accounts to preferred banks; reducing bank fees; forecasting and managing cash / liquidity; identifying, recommending, and managing principal protection investment of idle funds; and selecting and implementing a treasury management tool to manage bank structure and accounts.
The position requires a continuous process improvement mindset and financial leadership to proactively analyze and frame recommended strategies to the CFO and other key stakeholders to optimize treasury operation / structure, mitigate risk, ensure sufficient liquidity, and drive efficiency in decision-making and business processes. This position requires a hands-on leader who will roll up their sleeves, set the pace, and lead by example. This individual will partner across Finance and Operations to support process transformation by streamlining, standardizing, and automating processes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the transformation and integration of the Treasury functions and consolidation and management of various banking relationships and banking platforms to create a center of excellence
Ensure that Treasury effectively executes the target operating model
Evaluate, rationalize, and migrate bank institutions and bank accounts from existing structure
Plan, develop, implement, and manage corporate and clients treasury activities, risk management, cash-related fraud detection methodologies, and regulatory compliance
Serve as primary contact for all banking, merchant services, corporate commercial credit card, and finance related relationships
Build and maintain relationships with strategic bank partners, investment professionals, and finance professionals
Develop, implement, and maintain bank account structures
Collaborate with Controllers, Operations Team, and other key stakeholders to develop and recommend initiatives to improve treasury operations, enhance services, reduce banking costs, and increase interest income of idle funds with principal protection vehicles to safe-guard corporate and clients funds. Initiatives such as:
Hybrid Demand Deposit Accounts
Certificate of Deposits, Money Market Funds
Other payment and collection methods (i.e., Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay)
Stay current on and oversee financial trends, regulations, and compliance related to treasury (e.g., FATCA, KYC, AML, Dodd Frank, and Various Real Estate Broker State Statutes)
Direct, lead, and coach the Treasury team. Foster a positive and inclusive team environment and support personal career development. Develop and foster customer centric center of excellence to internal and external stakeholders. Establish goals, key initiatives, and priorities for the team
Establish best practices, policies, and procedures for the Treasury Team and ensure compliance
Build out analytical capabilities and develop a high-performing team with deep subject matter expertise focused on treasury-related metrics
Oversee the implementation of a treasury management tool and adoption across applicable organization partners. Leverage system to improve daily cash position visibility, automate core Treasury processes, and foster best practices
Create daily corporate cash positions to accurately forecast and optimize cash position. This may include clients property cash as needed to evaluate potential at-risk clients or assist Controllers and Operations team to request additional cash injection for properties under management
Participate in budget and forecasting activities
Prepare KPIs and presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors
Assist leadership in new property acquisition due diligence and integration
Perform other duties as directed by the CFO
Education & Experience
6+ years of progressive professional experience in Cash Management, Treasury, or another related field
Real estate / property management experience with a private equity-owned or public real estate services company preferred
Technically strong in Cash Management and Treasury with strong analytic ability, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to drive corporate transformation, process improvement, automate manual processes and/or system improvements, and lead with purpose through periods of change
Hands-on leader with good communication skills, a results-oriented collaborative style and proven track record leading, delegating and growing teams
Detail-oriented and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present effectively to all levels of management, including private equity sponsor, corporate executives, Operation Team Leaders, and external service providers and stakeholders
Excellent project management skills and ability to execute initiatives while balancing day-to-day objectives
Demonstrated comfort making decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-volume environment
Familiarity with financial regulations and laws, such as GAAP and financial reporting requirements
Experience with ERPs and property management systems, particularly Real Page, Yardi, Entrada, a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial management software
