GSPE is a newly formed investment team within Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) which designs and manages diversified, multi-strategy private equity solutions for Goldman Sachs clients, with a focus on innovative solutions for individual wealth clients globally. Strategies may include buyout, growth equity, life sciences, sustainability, private equity secondaries, GP stakes, coinvestments and primary investments. The team works with distribution partners, as well as end individual clients, to inform them on the breadth of private equity strategies at Goldman Sachs and deliver strong performance across our strategies through thoughtful portfolio construction and management.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the development and implementation of new internal processes to invest cross-strategy portfolios
Present investment opportunities to the investment working group through written and oral presentations, and conduct required follow-up
Lead teams in coordinating the execution of investments, including working closely with internal (e.g., investment teams, internal counsel, compliance, cash management) and external parties (e.g., lenders, external counsel)
Manage investment due diligences processes from prospective distribution partners assessing the GSPE investment vehicles
Build complex portfolio models to help with portfolio management, focusing on asset build, liability management, liquidity management and performance optimization
Develop investor updates and pitch decks outlining the investment products, their underlying holdings and the role of GSPE vehicles in portfolios
Monitor the performance and risk profile of existing portfolio investments and compliance with investment guidelines
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Private Equity/Corporate Finance/M&A/Portfolio Management
Sound investment judgment and outstanding numerical, analytical and valuation skills for the purpose of understanding private equity strategies and assessing investment opportunities
Strong presentation, communication and negotiation skills enabling the candidate to make robust recommendations to the Investment Committee and interact effectively with third parties
Excellent time, people and project management skills
Familiar with collaborative, cross functional teams
Ability to lead and work effectively as part of a team
