Position Overview

Vaquero Club is seeking motivated, detail-oriented students or recent graduates passionate about turf management and golf course maintenance. As a Turf Management Intern, you will work alongside our experienced agronomy team to maintain and enhance the pristine conditions of the course while gaining hands-on experience with innovative technologies and best practices.

• Assist in the daily maintenance and care of the golf course, including mowing, trimming, and course setup.

• Participate in irrigation management, including troubleshooting, repairs, and monitoring moisture levels.

• Learn and apply advanced turfgrass cultural practices such as aeration, topdressing, and verticutting.

• Gain hands-on experience with bentgrass and zoysia management, including disease prevention and nutrient applications.

• Contribute to special projects, such as monitoring environmental conditions and maintaining the aesthetics of the course.

• Operate and maintain specialized turf equipment under the guidance of the agronomy team.

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, or related program.

• Strong passion for turf management and the golf industry.

• Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and in varying weather conditions.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.

• Previous experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping is a plus but not required.

About Vaquero Club

The Vaquero Club is an exclusive, private equity club enveloped in pristine Westlake, Texas just north of Fort Worth within the DFW metroplex. The club prides itself in maintaining a genuine family atmosphere with elite service and amenities that are second to none. The amenities are highlighted by an 18-hole championship golf course which was masterfully carved into the Texas landscape and a world class practice facility. In 2015, Vaquero teamed with both AHGreen Design along with Marsh & Associates to develop a cohesive 2-Phase Master Plan for the golf course and all club facilities. Beginning in 2016, phase 1 of the Master Plan included a full redesign & construction of the Practice Facility, Teaching Center, Ranch House, and extended through a remodel and expansion of the Clubhouse and Fitness Center which opened in 2018. Phase 2 of the club's Master Plan was executed in 2023 and included a reconstruction and design of the golf course, expansions to our racquets center, and 2 new amenity stations.
